Low Income Energy Assistance

  • The Low Income Energy Assistance Program (LIEAP) provides a one-time annual vendor payment to help eligible families pay their heating expenses during the cold-weather months.
  • New Hanover County Households that include a person aged 60 or older or disabled persons receiving services through the NC Division of Aging and Adult Services are eligible to sign up for assistance from Dec. 1 – 31. 
  • New Hanover County residents can apply for heating cost assistance through the Low-Income Energy Assistance Program from January through March each year.
