COVID-19 Information

New Hanover County Public Health has been on the front lines of the COVID-19 pandemic since early March 2020 and continues to serve the community through education, vaccinations, and other resources.


On May 11, 2023, the federal Public Health Emergency declaration for the COVID-19 pandemic ended and changed the way data sources and reporting can be shared. As a result, the New Hanover County COVID-19 dashboard is no longer available.

The CDC and NCDHHS will continue to monitor COVID-19 impacts and metrics, and you can find the most up-to-date community information via the links below. 

COVID-19 Relief Programs for Businesses & Nonprofits

New Hanover County launched a variety of financial aid and COVID-19 Relief Programs (PDF) utilizing American Rescue Plan funds in response to the needs of our community. A $4.5 million grant program for businesses, established in collaboration with the city, and a $700,000 grant program for nonprofits, were established in the summer of 2021. Applications for both grant programs have now closed.
