1. How can I find out if athletic fields are closed due to weather?

Decisions to close athletic fields due to weather are typically made between 12 and 1 pm each day.

Parks and Gardens gives you the option to receive field notifications by email or text message through the RainedOut app. To register, go to the RainedOut website and sign up with your mobile phone number or email address. You will then receive the notifications. You may unsubscribe from the service at any time.

RainedOut is a third-party app used by the county. To receive emails is free, but there is a charge of $7.30 per year for recipients to receive text messages.

Field closures are also posted on the Parks and Gardens Facebook and Twitter.

2. Do you have any basketball courts?

Yes, we have basketball courts at Arrowhead, Kings Grant, Long Leaf, Parkwood, Ogden and Veterans Parks.

3. Can I fly model airplanes on athletic fields?

Requests to fly model airplanes must be pre-approved by the Parks Assistant Director. Requestor must provide proof of General Liability insurance with at least $1 million per occurrence and $2 million aggregate.

4. Can I hit golf balls on athletic fields?

No, hitting golf balls is not allowed on any parks facilities.
